Three-part series provides practical strategies for navigating common challenges with young children

METAIRIE, La. (Oct. 19, 2026) – Parenting young children comes with challenges, but families don’t have to navigate them alone. Jefferson Ready Start Network (JRSN) is offering a series of three free virtual parenting sessions in November to help parents and caregivers better understand children’s behavior and develop practical strategies for supporting their emotional development.

The sessions will address common challenges families face during early childhood, including establishing routines, managing toddler tantrums and responding to physical aggression.

The free sessions will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the following dates:

  • Tuesday, Nov. 3 – Building Safety Through Predictability and Results: Explore how consistent routines and family rituals can help young children feel safe.
  • Tuesday, Nov. 10 – Responding to Mayhem – Tantrums from Toddlers: Learn why tantrums happen and practical strategies for helping young children navigate big emotions.
  • Tuesday, Nov. 17 – Managing Physical Aggression (Hitting, Kicking, Throwing): Explore ways to respond to challenging behaviors, establish healthy boundaries and help children express their emotions safely.

The sessions are designed to provide parents and caregivers with tools they can use at home to strengthen relationships, build confidence and support their children’s healthy development.

All sessions are free and will be held virtually, allowing families to participate from home. Registration is required to receive the meeting link click here.
